Client: Ealing Council
The refurbishment of the Golf Links Community Centre was undertaken as a result of a general refurbishment programme for the Golf Links Estate. Acclaim Contracts were responsible for the earlier roof renewal and internal refurbishment of Thurlestone Court – 24 flats adjacent to the Community Centre which had been damaged by fire in 2008.
The works to the Community Centre involved the complete replacement of all the internal fire doors, new floor coverings, minor plumbing works and electrical improvements together with the redecoration of all areas with the exception of the IT suite.
Part of the works included the refurbishment of the under 5’s crèche facility, which was completed during a half-term break to minimise disruption. This later extended to additional works to a timber veranda outside the creche, which had started to rot and was replaced during the Easter Break ready for the spring and summer terms when the children would be outside.
Access to the crèche had to be maintained throughout the eight-week project and noise kept to a minimum at certain times of the day. Arrangements were made to relocate various clubs and organisations using the Community Centre.
The completed works were handed over to Ealing Homes on time. The Community Centre Representative was present during the handover and expressed her delight at the standard of work and the way in which Acclaim Contracts had managed the project.
Value: £ 45,000

Comments: The various User Groups and the crèche staff were delighted with their newly refurbished facility and commented on the professional delivery of the project, which was completed on time and snag-free.
